Tai, an immigrant from New Zealand, initially didn't like school, but he found EVC and a community through Aspire and the Associated Student Government. He went on to attend UC Davis and earn a doctorate in psychology.

MindCraft is a unique learning opportunity that  links an academic reading and writing class with a general psychology class to deepen students' understanding of human behavior

Earn a Degree

By earning a transfer degree in Psychology at EVC, students take an Intro to Research Methods (PSYCH-018) along with a combination of General Psychology (PSYCH-001) and biology, including Intro to Biological Psychology (PSYCH-030). Classes can also include areas of Human Sexuality, Psychology of Women, Abnormal and Developmental Psychology, Personal Growth and Adjustment, Violence Against Women.

The Behavioral Intake and Assessment Certificate Program (BIA-CP) gives students the skills for entry-level employment with community mental and behavioral health providers. It includes courses in drug intake, assessment, use, and recovery, working with at-risk populations, and working within this vital industry.
