University of California (UCs)

The University of California (UC) is a public land-grant research university system headquartered in Oakland, California.  It comprises ten campuses, nine of which offer undergraduate degrees. These campuses are located in Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, Los Angeles, Merced, Riverside, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Santa Cruz. The San Francisco campus offers only graduate and professional degrees.  The UC system also operates research and academic centers across California and internationally.  The University of California (UC) is one of California’s three public higher education systems, alongside the California State University and California Community Colleges.

Students are encouraged to contact the admissions representatives directly at their prospective UC campuses by clicking the Admissions Contact Info. to discuss their transfer goals and major-specific questions.  We also recommend that students meet with an EVC Counselor for additional transfer guidance.

Before beginning your UC application, review which campuses offer your intended majors for upcoming terms by clicking Campuses & Majors.

Find out which UC campuses are currently accepting applications, which majors are open or closed, and read any notices from the campus(es) you’re interested in by clicking Dates & Deadlines or Dates & Deadlines.

To start a transfer application to any of the 9 UCs, click Apply Now to create a UC account, then begin the application.

UC Santa Cruz Karl S. Pister Leadership Opportunity Program Award 

  • Students are no longer required to submit a separate application.  All transfer students from EVC will automatically be considered based on their UCSC admissions application.

Here’s a list of videos to help you complete specific sections of the TAG (Transfer Admission Guarantee) and/or TAP (Transfer Admission Planner) applications.

Important:
To complete the TAG application, you must first create a TAP account. All information entered in TAP will be imported into your TAG application. 

Also, even if you already have a UC application account, you must create a separate TAP account in order to apply for TAG.  It is NOT required to have a TAP account to apply to any UC campuses.  However, most UC campuses highly recommend students to have a TAP account when they contact them for advice.
